Quick look at Q2 cash burn for eVTOL stocks Joby and Archer

Both Joby and Archer Aviation are burning a lot of cash to build their eVTOL businesses. In Q2, Joby reported $38.6M in revenue but a $260M operating loss. They still have $2.2B in cash, giving them roughly two years of runway. Archer had $5M in revenue and a $279M operating loss. Their $1.5B cash pile gives them just over a year of runway. Both companies are making progress on flight tests and have major corporate partners. Joby is working with Delta and Virgin Atlantic, while Archer is partnered with Boeing. These backers suggest raising more capital shouldn't be too hard, but the high cash burn is definitely something to keep an eye on.

Joby’s longer runway gives it more breathing room, but both companies face heavy cash burn. Flight-test progress will need to translate into commercial milestones soon.
