Apple Pay Is Finally in India. Will You Make the Switch?

If you use an iPhone, paying with your phone just got a lot more interesting. has launched Apple Pay in India, starting with Axis Bank Visa and Mastercard credit cards.

You can add your eligible card to Apple Wallet and use your iPhone or Apple Watch to make contactless payments in stores, apps and on websites. No need to pull out your physical card every time.

But here's the big question: India already has UPI, which makes everyday payments incredibly easy. Will Apple Pay get people to tap their iPhones more often, or will UPI remain the go-to option for most payments?

Would you use Apple Pay if you had an iPhone, or are you happy sticking with UPI?

Apple Pay’s launch is a meaningful step, but competing with UPI’s convenience and reach in India will be a tough challenge.
