Earnings overview for quantum computing stocks IONQ, RGTI, and QBTS
Earnings overview for quantum computing stocks IONQ, RGTI, and QBTS
A quick look at the main quantum computing stocks. Most are dealing with low sales and rising costs as the tech develops.
**IonQ (IONQ)**
Q2 revenue was $80.1M, up 287% from last year, helped by a recent acquisition. Management expects organic revenue to double this year. However, their adjusted EBITDA loss widened to $120.3M. They have $3B in cash, but the stock is pricey with a P/S ratio of 57.
**Rigetti (RGTI)**
Q2 sales grew 185% but only reached $5.1M. The CEO noted that significant commercial revenue is still several years away. They are currently debt-free and sitting on $541M in cash.
**D-Wave (QBTS)**
Bookings were up to $35.5M, but actual sales were only $3.1M, which is down from last year. They took a $37.1M adjusted EBITDA loss for the quarter. They still have $588M in cash to keep operating.
IonQ seems the best positioned financially right now, but the whole sector is going to take years to mature and will likely see a lot of volatility.

IonQ’s growth and cash position stand out, but the long commercialization timeline and heavy losses show how speculative the quantum sector remains.
