Berkshire Hathaway's AI exposure is mostly Apple and Alphabet, zero Nvidia
Berkshire Hathaway has a $361 billion portfolio but doesn't own any Nvidia. Their main AI exposure comes through Apple, Alphabet, and Moody's.
Apple makes up about 20% of the portfolio, focusing on edge AI models and Apple Intelligence. Alphabet is around 7%, leaning on Google Cloud and Gemini. Moody's uses AI to upgrade its financial forecasting.
Nvidia is trading at 23 times forward earnings with high growth expected, but Buffett avoids it because he doesn't fully understand the business. His successor Greg Abel also prefers Apple and Alphabet to avoid the typical boom and bust cycles of the semiconductor industry. They are opting for a more conservative strategy to play the AI market.
