While the S&P 500 slipped 0.4% on September 4, NRG Energy jumped 6.4% and Constellation Energy gained 4.9%. The bigger story is that the AI boom isn’t just about chips anymore. Data centers need enormous amounts of electricity, and companies providing that power could become some of the biggest beneficiaries of the next phase of AI infrastructure. Are AI power stocks the next big trade, or are investors already pricing in too much growth?
The AI power trade is getting really interesting. As data centers demand more electricity, NRG and Constellation could have a lot more attention from investors watching the next phase of AI growth.
Yeah, I think that’s the interesting part of the setup. If HP can turn the AI PC cycle into real earnings growth, the story could look a lot more compelling from here.
