Cathie Wood is buying SpaceX while Michael Burry shorts Palantir
Cathie Wood and Michael Burry are taking different approaches to tech stocks right now.
Wood is buying up SpaceX (SPCX). She is looking past the current valuation and treating it like her early Tesla bets, viewing the business as a broad infrastructure play rather than just a rocket company.
Burry is taking the opposite route with Palantir (PLTR). He thinks the company is overvalued and expects that AI agents will make a lot of current SaaS offerings obsolete. Based on his cash flow models, he values the stock at $50 compared to its current price around $180. He is currently holding puts against the stock.

Interesting split in conviction, Wood is betting on long-term AI/space infrastructure, while Burry is focused on valuation risk. Both highlight how much expectations matter at these prices.

spacex seems like such a unique play for the long run. i can see why cathie wood is willing to ignore the valuation for a bit.
