TD Cowen analyst compares quantum stocks Rigetti and D-Wave
TD Cowen analyst Krish Sankar released a note comparing two quantum computing players, Rigetti Computing and D-Wave Quantum. While the sector is projected to grow significantly, hardware costs and complexity remain major hurdles.
**Rigetti Computing (RGTI)**
Rigetti reported $1.9 million in revenue for the recent quarter, missing estimates and down 19% year-over-year. Operating loss was $20.5 million. Despite securing an $8.4 million order from India, the analyst rates it a Hold. He points to cash burn risks and heavy competition from larger tech companies.
**D-Wave Quantum (QBTS)**
D-Wave revenue hit $3.7 million, a 100% year-over-year increase that beat expectations. They also posted a net loss but recently secured a $20 million deal with Florida Atlantic University. The analyst rates this a Buy, noting that their dual approach with annealing and gate-model systems covers more potential use cases.
The analyst prefers D-Wave right now based on their revenue growth and technology roadmap.

really appreciate this comparison because the tech is so complex. D-Wave having a dual approach sounds like a smart way to hedge their bets.
