Rivian up 26% after earnings, software revenue growing and R2 coming soon
Rivian reported Q4 results and the stock popped 26%. The general EV market is struggling after tax incentives ended last year, with total EV sales down 46% in Q4, but Rivian had some specific positives.
Auto revenue actually dipped 15%, but software and services revenue surged 222% thanks to the Volkswagen partnership. They also improved gross profits by $1.3 billion year over year.
Guidance for 2026 is 62k-67k deliveries, which would be a 59% increase from 2025. They are still guiding for an adjusted loss around $2 billion next year, but the mass market R2 reveal on March 12 is the next thing to watch.
