Logistics stocks drop as former karaoke company sparks AI fears
Logistics stocks took a big hit Thursday due to fears over AI disruption. The main trigger was a small company called Algorhythm Holdings, which used to make karaoke machines. They claimed their new AI platform allows freight scaling of 300-400% without adding headcount.
Even though Algorhythm only has a $6 million market cap, the news spooked the sector. The Russell 3000 Trucking Index dropped 6.6%. CH Robinson fell 15% and Landstar System dropped 16%.
Analysts think the reaction is an overreaction to the "AI scare trade," noting that major brokers will likely just adopt the software themselves rather than being replaced by it.

the dip in ch robinson seems like a classic case of market panic. sometimes these scares create a decent entry point for long term investors.
