Zuckerberg buys $150M Miami home as tech leaders continue leaving California

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg bought a mansion in Miami's Indian Creek for an estimated $150 million to $200 million. The seller is Jersey Mike's founder Peter Cancro. The move is planned for April, which aligns with California's proposed retroactive 5% billionaire tax. Other tech figures like Jeff Bezos and Google's co-founders have also reduced ties to California recently. Venture capitalists like Chamath Palihapitiya and Bill Ackman are criticizing the tax proposal, suggesting it is causing a significant drop in the state's taxable wealth.

california has been the tech hub for so long, but these tax changes are clearly pushing meta and others to look elsewhere. miami seems like the new spot for everyone.
