AST SpaceMobile announced they successfully unfolded the BlueBird 6 satellite today. It features the largest commercial communications array in low Earth orbit at 2,400 square feet. The company states it can support speeds up to 120 Mbps and provides ten times the bandwidth of the BlueBird 1-5 series. They also confirmed they remain on track to launch 45 to 60 satellites by the end of 2026, with launches planned every one or two months. The technology allows standard smartphones to connect directly for 4G and 5G service without modifications.
