Databricks hits $134B valuation and $5.4B revenue run rate
Databricks announced they reached a $5.4B revenue run rate, growing 65% year-over-year. About $1.4B of that revenue is coming specifically from their AI products. They also officially closed a $5B funding round at a $134B valuation and secured a $2B loan.
The CEO said they aren't planning an IPO right now. They want to keep the balance sheet strong in case the market takes a downturn like it did in 2022. He also discussed the impact of AI on SaaS, suggesting that while natural language interfaces might replace complex user interfaces, companies are unlikely to rip out core systems of record like Salesforce or SAP just yet.

it's refreshing to see a company prioritize a strong balance sheet over a flashy ipo right now. databricks seems to be playing the long game which i really respect.
