Phillips 66 and Kinder Morgan announced they received enough shipper commitments to close the initial open season for the Western Gateway Pipeline. They are launching a second open season in January 2026 to fill the remaining capacity. The project involves building new pipelines and reversing existing ones to transport refined products from Texas to Arizona and California. They also plan to offer access to Los Angeles markets through a joint tariff. It looks like the goal is to get Midwest refinery supply connected to the West Coast.
