Virgin Galactic announced a collaboration with Lawrence Livermore National Lab today. They are looking into using SPCE's launch vehicles to carry LLNL sensor systems. The goal is to test next-gen image capture capabilities for high-altitude aircraft. It is officially a feasibility study to see if the launch vehicles work well for this kind of research environment.
