Lifeward (LFWD) announced a partnership with Oramed (ORMP) that involves a mix of cash and technology transfer. Oramed is investing up to $47 million and handing over its oral drug delivery platform to Lifeward. In return, Oramed gets up to a 49.99% equity stake in Lifeward. The capital is intended to help Lifeward reach profitability with its ReWalk and AlterG product lines. Oramed will retain responsibility for funding and managing the clinical trials for the oral insulin tech. Oramed also gets a 4% royalty on ReWalk sales for up to 10 years. It seems like Lifeward gets the cash runway they need while Oramed maintains exposure to the drug tech without running the daily operations.
