Could This Be an Opportunity in the EV Market?
I’m curious why Michael Burry is looking at BYD while so much attention is still focused on AI stocks. Burry has reportedly taken a position in the Chinese EV maker after its stock pulled back sharply. BYD is expanding internationally, but slowing demand in China, tough competition and trade barriers are still real challenges. I’m watching , and closely because the EV market could offer opportunities beyond the usual U.S. tech names. I’m not calling this an easy win, but Burry’s move definitely caught my attention. Would you consider buying a beaten-down EV stock like BYD, or stick with the bigger U.S. names?
BYD’s global expansion is worth watching, but competition and pricing pressure could make recovery difficult. A pullback alone doesn’t make a stock a bargain. I’d want to see signs of improving demand before getting interested.
I keep watching BYD because their vertical integration is impressive compared to other manufacturers. It is a risky play but the potential upside is huge if they keep expanding.
