A look at why XRP probably won't repeat its 2017 run
A look at why XRP probably won't repeat its 2017 run
For XRP to repeat its 2017 run, the price would need to hit around $520 per coin. That would put its market cap at $32.8 trillion, which is about 11 times the entire current crypto market.
The network is trying to compete in tokenization and payments, but it is lagging. The XRP Ledger only has $499 million in tokenized assets compared to Ethereum's $16.7 billion. On the payments side, it hosts just $1.3 billion of the $305.7 billion stablecoin market.
Even if network activity increases, it might not translate to higher coin prices. The network just destroys its transaction fees and lacks a buyback or fee-sharing mechanism.

The scale needed for another 2017-style run is pretty extreme. Network adoption could help, but market cap and actual token value capture are worth watching closely.
