A look at the Defiance Quantum ETF (QTUM)
The Defiance Quantum ETF (QTUM) is an option for getting exposure to the quantum computing sector. It tracks an index of about 80 to 90 stocks tied to quantum computing and machine learning.
The fund requires companies to generate at least 50% of their revenue or operating activity from quantum-related products. It holds pure-play quantum stocks like D-Wave (QBTS), IonQ (IONQ), and Rigetti (RGTI), along with established tech companies building AI chips and data platforms.
The main benefit is spreading out the risk. Instead of betting on a single early-stage company, you get a diversified basket. Many of these holdings are already generating revenue from AI and cloud services while quantum tech continues to develop.

QTUM offers a more diversified way to play quantum computing, which makes sense given how speculative and early-stage many pure-play quantum stocks still are.

quantum computing feels like where ai was a few years ago. i wonder if international business machines will stay the dominant force or if someone new will pull ahead.
