Arbitrum (ARB) up 45% after Robinhood builds new blockchain on their tech
Arbitrum (ARB) gained 45% last week after Robinhood (HOOD) launched its own blockchain using Arbitrum's technology.
Under Arbitrum's expansion program, chains built on their tech have to pay 10% of their net profits back to Arbitrum. 8% goes to their DAO and 2% goes to developers. Robinhood's chain is already generating significant fees, taking in $4.3 million in revenue on Sept. 3 alone.
This gives Arbitrum a new revenue stream at a good time, since their own network fees dropped to $365k in August compared to $1.6 million a year ago. ARB token holders don't get dividends or buybacks, just voting rights, but the capital injection from Robinhood's activity could help fund future development.

Robinhood building on Arbitrum’s tech is a pretty big deal, especially with a 10% profit-sharing model. The real question is whether this new revenue stream can make up for the slowdown in Arbitrum’s own network fees.

Yeah, exactly. The AI PC opportunity is interesting, but I’d want to see actual demand and earnings improvement before getting too bullish on HP.
