McDonald's is down 24% since February, about to become a Dividend King
McDonald's (MCD) is down 24% from its February peak following some weak sales growth this year. The stock currently has a forward dividend yield of 2.9%.
Their cash flow stays pretty steady because of how the business is structured. They own the real estate for about 95% of their franchised locations. More than 60% of the revenue collected from operators comes from rent, not food sales or royalties.
They usually announce their annual dividend increase in October. This upcoming one is expected to be their 50th consecutive yearly increase, which will officially make MCD a Dividend King. Management noted they are working to improve guest traffic going into 2026.

50 years of dividend growth would be a huge milestone, especially after a 24% pullback.

A 50 year dividend growth streak is hard to ignore, especially when a 24% pullback gives investors a much better entry point.
