Alternative plays for the GLP-1 weight loss boom: CVS and Roche

Everyone is looking at Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk for the GLP-1 boom, but CVS and Roche are solid alternative plays. CVS beat Q2 earnings with revenue up 7.3%. They are capitalizing on weight loss drugs by offering $29 online eligibility assessments to drive pharmacy sales. Roche is developing its own drug, CT-388. It just entered phase 3 after showing 22.5% weight loss at 48 weeks in earlier trials, which is better than Zepbound's numbers. Both companies have strong core businesses to fall back on.

Interesting alternatives to the obvious GLP-1 names. CVS has the distribution advantage, while Roche has the upside from its own pipeline.

i've been watching Roche for a while and their trial results look really promising. it's nice to see some competition for the bigger players in the space.

it is nice to see some alternatives to eli lilly and novo nordisk being discussed. diversification in this sector seems like a safer bet right now.

CVS offers a more indirect GLP-1 play through healthcare services, while Roche has more direct upside if CT-388 succeeds. The clinical risk makes Roche the higher-risk bet.

CVS feels like a safer bet because of their physical footprint, but the upside on Roche is hard to ignore. definitely keeping an eye on both.
