Thoughts on a few overlooked AV stocks

Most people focus on Tesla or Waymo for autonomous vehicles, but there are a few other plays that get less attention. Aurora Innovation (AUR) is targeting long-haul trucking. They started generating revenue recently and plan to switch to a pay-per-mile model in 2027 by installing their tech in fleet-owned trucks. Analysts think autonomous trucking will be cheaper than human drivers by 2028. Mobileye (MBLY) makes chips and tech for advanced driver-assistance systems. They control about 70% of the global ADAS market. Their 2025 earnings report showed an 8-year revenue pipeline of $24.5 billion, which is a 42% increase from their last report. Uber (UBER) is taking a different route by partnering with AV companies to be a ride-hailing aggregator instead of building their own cars. The main risk is that companies might eventually cut them out. Waymo has already made it clear they want to dissolve their partnership to use their own system. Still, Uber has solid cash flow and the uncertainty has kept the stock price somewhat grounded.

AUR, MBLY, and UBER offer very different ways to play autonomy, which makes the space interesting. I’d favor the names with clearer paths to real revenue and scalable economics.

Mobileye has such a huge grip on the market already so they feel like a safer bet. it's impressive how many car makers already use their tech.
