$NEXT vs $VG which LNG name actually wins long term?
is already producing, just signed new deals with TotalEnergies and Vitol, and raised its 2026 EBITDA guidance massively
is still building out Rio Grande LNG with production not starting until 2027 but has a lot more runway if everything goes to plan
the LNG space feels genuinely underrated right now with US exports hitting record highs is anyone else watching this sector or is it just me?
If execution matters most, NEXT looks lower risk today; if you’re betting on future capacity and scale, VG probably has the bigger upside but also more project risk.
I think it comes down to risk versus reward. already has operating assets, growing cash flow, and more visibility today, while looks more like the higher-upside bet if management executes on the buildout. The LNG story itself still looks strong, so the real question is whether you want proven production or future capacity growth.
