Nvidia is targeting the CPU market, sees $200B total addressable market
Nvidia announced in their Q1 call that they want to dominate the CPU market, not just GPUs. Management says it is a $200 billion total addressable market and they are projecting nearly $20 billion in standalone CPU revenue this year.
The shift is happening because new AI agents need CPUs to execute tasks, while GPUs handle the models. They are already planning to ship their first CPU-only servers to Meta. This overall CPU demand is also helping competitors like AMD and Intel, with Intel's stock up 222% year to date.

that is a huge market for them to target. i'm curious if amd will try to compete more aggressively now that meta is involved.
