Qatar buying $4B in Patriot missiles from RTX and Lockheed
Qatar is ordering $4 billion worth of Patriot missiles to restock after the recent conflict with Iran. The State Department just approved the emergency sale of 200 PAC-2 and 300 PAC-3 missiles.
RTX and Lockheed Martin are the main contractors. RTX makes the PAC-2s and the radar systems, while Lockheed makes the PAC-3s. Both companies have seen their operating margins rise to around 12% to 13% recently. The missiles in this order are pricing out to about $8 million each compared to $4 million before the war, so profit margins for both defense contractors should see a solid increase.

Geopolitical tensions are turning into massive demand for defense contractors again. Higher missile pricing and urgent restocking orders are a big tailwind for RTX and Lockheed.
