Novo Nordisk released their Q1 numbers. Reported sales went up 32% to DKK 96.8 billion, but adjusted sales actually fell 4% due to lower realized prices. Adjusted operating profit also dropped 6% as they keep spending on R&D and product launches. The new Wegovy pill is getting traction in the US with over 2 million prescriptions since launch. They estimate that covers about 1 million patients. They also launched the high-dose 7.2 mg version nationwide. On the pipeline side, they secured FDA approval for Awiqli, a once-weekly insulin, and reported positive trial data for a few other drugs. The company raised its overall 2026 outlook based on expected GLP-1 sales, despite cutting around 10,000 jobs over the past year.
