Nokia is shifting focus from legacy telecom to AI networking. They recently partnered with Nvidia, who invested $1 billion to help co-develop AI-RAN solutions. The goal is to integrate Nvidia GPUs into cell towers to process data at the edge instead of routing it all back to centralized data centers. They also teamed up with Anduril to build secure 5G networks for military applications, opening the door for multiyear defense contracts. The pivot is showing up in their financials. Their AI and cloud sales grew 49% year over year in Q1. Management also raised their long-term growth forecast for that segment from 16% to 27%. The stock is up about 105% YTD as they transition into an infrastructure play.
