Space Force awards $3.2B for Golden Dome missile defense
Space Force just announced $3.2 billion in contracts to 12 companies to build space-based interceptors for the new Golden Dome missile defense shield. The goal is to put satellites in orbit armed with missiles to shoot down incoming attacks.
The list of winners includes private names like SpaceX and Anduril, but half are publicly traded. Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and RTX (partnering with Rocket Lab) are the main public players involved. Since they already won earlier contracts for tracking satellites, they seem well positioned for this new round of funding.
Lockheed Martin looks like the most grounded bet of the group. It is sitting at a 15.8 P/E ratio and 1.6 price-to-sales, with projected earnings growth around 18.5% over the next five years.

Defense and space spending keeps ramping up, and the established players like Lockheed and Northrop are in a strong spot to keep benefiting from it.

Defense stocks really got the cheat code whenever government money starts flying around.
