Plug Power reports first positive gross profit, stock up 26% in March
PLUG had a strong March, jumping 26% after a rough few months. They reported their first-ever positive gross profit of $5.5M (2.4% margin) in Q4. Revenue was up 17.6% year over year, beating estimates. Cash burn also dropped by 26.5%.
They have a new CEO who expects operating profitability by the end of 2027. They are also planning to sell off some assets to raise up to $142M by Q2.
There are still some clear risks. They need cash, dilution is a concern, and they are facing class action lawsuits over a $1.66B DOE loan that got suspended late last year. It is probably worth watching for a few more quarters before jumping in.

the news about plug power sounds promising but those lawsuits still make me a bit nervous about jumping in right now.
