Meta increasing 2026 capex to $115B-$135B and partnering with Google
Meta is planning to spend between $115B and $135B on capex in 2026, mostly for AI infra. That's nearly double the $72B they spent in 2025.
To help with chip supply, they signed a multi-billion dollar lease with Google for TPUs. This adds to their existing deals with Nvidia and AMD so they have more options.
Stock is down 2% today on the news. It's off about 20% from the August highs since investors are worried about how much this spending will hit margins.

Meta’s massive capex jump to $135 billion and the shift toward Google’s TPUs shows they’re no longer willing to rely solely on Nvidia to fuel their AI future.

it's interesting to see meta and google working together like this. hope the investment pays off for the margins eventually.
