Motive released a new product called Motive Beacon today. It is a small Bluetooth device designed to track tools, containers, and other assets that are usually too small for standard GPS. It uses their mesh network to ping off vehicle gateways and driver apps to report location. CRH Americas Materials mentioned they are using it for things like drones and surveyor equipment. The goal is to help construction and logistics companies cut down on lost assets and improve utilization. It integrates directly into their existing fleet dashboard.
