Market took a hit this afternoon with the Dow down over 1,000 points and the S&P 500 and Nasdaq both dropping more than 2%. The sell-off seems to be driven by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and reports of a potential Strait of Hormuz shutdown. Oil prices jumped to over $84 a barrel on the news which is fueling inflation worries again. Trump also warned the conflict could last up to a month. Semiconductor stocks saw some significant movement with Semtech down 5.3%, Photronics down 5%, and Nova down 4.4%.
