PayPal fires CEO and gives weak guidance for 2026
PayPal announced they are replacing CEO Alex Chriss with HP's Enrique Lores starting March 1. The stock is currently trading 86% below its peak with a P/E of 9.2. Q4 results were weak, with branded checkout volume up only 1% and transactions per active account falling 5%. Management cited retail weakness and competition from Apple and Google Pay. Guidance for 2026 EPS is expected to be flat or slightly down. They also paid their first quarterly dividend of $0.14 recently.
