Salesforce updates: $5.6b Army contract, buybacks, and mixed analyst views
Salesforce fair value estimates got a small adjustment, but there is quite a bit of analyst activity. Goldman Sachs started coverage with a Buy rating and $330 target, pointing to AI tailwinds. Barclays raised their target to $338, while Piper Sandler cut theirs by $35 thinking the stock might be fully valued.
On the business side, they signed a 10-year, $5.6 billion deal with the U.S. Army for cloud and AI services. They also updated guidance for the year and noted they bought back 15 million shares worth about $3.8 billion recently.

Big win with that Army deal, but feels like the stock’s in a “prove it” phase now. AI hype’s there, buybacks help, but upside might be slower from here.
