Tech stocks slide as software sell-off accelerates
The Nasdaq dropped 1.4% today as the slump in software stocks got worse. The VIX is back above 20, signaling some unease in the market.
There wasn't a specific trigger from the Fed or Washington, but fears about AI replacing enterprise software seem to be driving the move. Anthropic released new tools that spooked investors, sending Intuit down 11% and Salesforce down nearly 7%. Nvidia and Broadcom also slid about 3%.
It wasn't all red. Palantir started strong after earnings, and memory stocks like Western Digital and Sandisk were up 7% and 4% respectively. Google and Amazon report earnings soon.

seeing Nvidia and Broadcom dip is always a bit stressful. hopefully the market settles down once the earnings from Google and Amazon come out.
