Update on tariffs, potential refunds, and NVDA China sales

Update on tariffs, potential refunds, and NVDA China sales

Kevin Hassett says the administration expects to win the Supreme Court case on tariffs, but if they lose, the government might have to refund up to $100 billion. Costco and other companies are already filing lawsuits to get money back. Trump announced a $1,776 "warrior dividend" for military members, stating it is funded by tariff revenue. He also indicated that general $2,000 rebate checks are likely to be proposed to Congress next year. In company news, Nvidia received approval to sell H200 chips to China, and Xi Jinping reportedly responded positively. iRobot filed for bankruptcy and is going private, which caused the stock to drop 73%. Tariff revenue decreased slightly in November to $30.76 billion after exemptions on items like coffee and oranges, though total collections for 2025 exceeded $200 billion.

Whole thing feels like a coin flip. Tariffs paying the bills until the court says nope, refunds hit, and the math blows up. getting China sales back is a W, but the policy whiplash is real. Markets gonna stay jumpy.
