Toyota to export US-made cars to Japan to appease Trump
Toyota is shipping three US-made models to Japan starting in 2026 to improve trade relations with Trump. The Camry, Highlander, and Tundra - made in Kentucky, Indiana, and Texas - will be sold in the Japanese market.
While Toyota says this meets diverse needs, it seems like a move to avoid tariffs, especially after Chairman Akio Toyoda was seen wearing MAGA gear recently. Analysts warn sales will likely be low because the cars are too big for Japanese roads and parking spaces.
