PLUG up 15% on Namibia project, FCEL earnings and sector optimism
Plug Power shares rose 15% Thursday due to a mix of news. They successfully installed a 5MW electrolyzer at a plant in Namibia. Rival FuelCell Energy also reported strong earnings and noted data centers as a growth area, which investors think benefits Plug too. Plus, the recent Trump Media merger with a fusion company has people speculating the administration might support alternative energy. Keep in mind Plug isn't profitable yet and their $1.66B loan guarantee is currently paused.
