Big week coming up for economic data and consumer earnings
Big week coming up for economic data and consumer earnings
The data backlog from the government shutdown is finally clearing up. We are getting a bunch of delayed reports this week including employment, retail sales, and the CPI. The Fed is watching these numbers closely to figure out the next move on rates, and we will hear from governors Miran and Waller soon.
On the earnings side, Micron reports Wednesday. This is a big one for the AI trade since the stock is up over 200% this year. We also get a look at the consumer with reports from Nike, FedEx, CarMax, and Carnival. FedEx reinstated its full-year outlook calling for 4-6% revenue growth despite facing some tariff headwinds.
