In most cases, if a company underperforms, its stock may fall. Furthermore, in an overall rising market, those underperforming securities may rise with the market. But almost always fall if the market fails. This makes taking into account a company’s fundamentals as well as overall trend necessary when evaluating stocks.
It's an efficient way to return money to it's investors but only makes sense when the stock is actually undervalued.
seems overbought atm due to elevated RSI but that's typical in upward trends. it's diverging drastically from 50-day and 200-day averages signalling a strong upward momentum
the biotech sector will have even more room for momentum plays in near future as it will continue piggybacking AI
i think so too. if it does happen though, do you think it might clear the way for these companies to get listed on major stock exchanges? or am I missing something here?
great pizza analogy and I concur! there's a good chance that mortgage rates could rise in anticipation of the unknown.
can we add these symbols to our directory?
TerreAscend Corp. (TSNDF)
Curaleaf Holdings Inc. CURLF)
Trulieve Cannabis Corp. (TCNNF)
Green Thumb Industries (GTBIF)
That's def a conversation to be had, but you are right about the second part. It's speculation atm and something about this tells me that if it passes, it'l be a game changer. just wanted to see what others thought of it :)
To kick things off, here are some interesting picks imo,
and
AbCellera Biologics (ABCL) specializes in antibodies for therapeutic purposes which have been gaining traction lately. they are amongst other companies like Absci Corp. (also in the biotech sector) that are powering the research of their protein-based drugs with generative AI.
I agree, stricter regulations around healthcare don't make for a smooth transition which is why the next few years hold a lot of potential for breakouts. thanks for adding the symbols to the portfolio, too. I'll add a few more of my liking on there soon
to add to that, it's easier to identify good prospects than it was earlier. ETFs are great, however, I'm optimistic about IPOs too for the reasons you mentioned
that's a great idea and they are definitely long term plays so grouping them into a separate space will help. /h/AI-Pharma could be a subsidiary of both AI and pharma hubs.
Alphafold from Deepmind is the only thing that comes to mind when you say protein folding but that technology is yet to be profitable on its own if I'm not wrong. on the other hand, can be a great pick. They launched a digital tool in July last year that aids surgeons in gathering data which has shown promising results. is another off the top of my head. In their recent press releases, they've hinted at using AI to improve fields like radiology. you might also want to look at if you're interested in the drug discovery sector.
All stocks are expectation vs. reality. One thing to note is that approvals are not always straightforward. One company may seek approvals in many areas but only get clearance for one. So for instance, if your drug cures pain and depression but you only catch approval for pain, it's not in your best interest if your main selling point is depression.
There are many reasons but that's one. Also, market expectations play a huge role here. If it was expecting approval, then selling would be the trend and vice versa. Hope that helps!
