Quick Summary

Coeur Mining Inc is a leading North American precious metals mining company headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. The company is engaged in the exploration, development, and operation of gold and silver mines, holding 100% interests in key operations including the Palmarejo gold and silver mine in Mexico, the Rochester silver and gold mine in Nevada, and the Silvertip silver-zinc-lead mine in Canada. Coeur Mining produces and sells precious metals to industrial companies, metal refiners, and financial institutions. The company has shifted its production mix in recent years to focus more on gold, while also generating revenue from silver and byproduct metals. Its business model emphasizes operational efficiency, cost control, and ongoing exploration.

The Bull Case

  • Coeur Mining's diversified portfolio of producing assets in favorable jurisdictions limits some operational and geopolitical risks.
  • The increasing share of revenue from gold positions the company to benefit from strong gold market fundamentals.
  • Consistent efforts in cost control and production optimization have improved operating performance.
  • The sale of exploration assets has enhanced liquidity, and the company has a demonstrated track record of navigating commodity cycles through operational discipline.

The Bear Case

  • Coeur Mining has a history of significant share dilution, which can dampen earnings per share growth and investor confidence.
  • The company remains exposed to operational risks, such as potential delays or cost overruns in mine expansions.
  • Heavy dependence on gold and silver prices makes profitability sensitive to commodity market swings.
  • While liquidity has improved, large capital expenditures or operational issues could strain financial resources.

Key Risks

  • Key risks for Coeur Mining include ongoing exposure to volatile gold and silver prices, any operational setbacks or unexpected cost escalations at key mines, and further share dilution through equity issuances.
  • Regulatory changes and environmental compliance in the mining sector can introduce added costs or restrictions.
  • There is also the potential for delays in development projects that could affect future output and earnings.

What to Watch

UpcomingDuring the most recent quarter (Q4 2025), Coeur Mining reported strong financial results, including total revenue of $555 million and net income of $267 million.
UpcomingThese results were driven by higher gold and silver production levels and favorable commodity prices.
UpcomingThe company improved its cash flow and gave updated full-year guidance reflecting efficiency gains across its core sites: Palmarejo, Rochester, and Silvertip.
ExpectedFor the next quarter, Coeur Mining is expected to maintain strong operational performance, supported by favorable gold and silver pricing and steady mine output.

Price Drivers

  • Coeur Mining’s stock price is primarily influenced by the prices of gold and silver, which are affected by global economic conditions, inflation expectations, and monetary policies.
  • Company-specific earnings results, cash flow, and operational performance also shape investor sentiment and valuation.
  • Project expansion progress, cost controls, and production guidance updates are material drivers, as are broader trends in the mining sector, such as commodity demand, sector rotation among investors, and changes in mining regulations.

Recent News

  • Recent events include the completion of a sale of Nevada exploration assets, boosting liquidity and providing capital for the company's core operations.
  • Coeur Mining reported strong quarterly results with increased revenue and net income, primarily driven by elevated gold and silver prices and operational improvements.
  • The company has not reported any mergers or acquisitions, nor any operational involvement with the Las Chispas mine.
  • In credit markets, Moody’s recently reviewed the company's credit rating given past cost overruns, but improved guidance and asset sales have supported a more favorable operating outlook.

Market Trends

  • The precious metals sector continues to be positively influenced by rising gold prices, which have reached new highs due to increased central bank buying, geopolitical risks, and shifts in monetary policy favoring commodities.
  • Investors are attracted to mining equities for their leverage to metal prices, though risks such as project delays and regulatory changes persist.
  • Consolidation and asset sales in the sector are ongoing as companies seek operational efficiencies and scale.

Thoughts on Coeur Mining

Thoughts on Coeur Mining

Been looking into lately. It’s trading around $18, but some fair value estimates are way higher, which already makes it interesting.

What I like is they’re actually executing 6 straight profitable quarters, revenues are up, and they’re still expanding (Rochester, Las Chispas). There’s also a possible NGD merger that could seriously scale their gold and silver output.

Balance sheet looks decent, cash flow is positive, debt is mostly long-term, and they even have a $75M buyback going on till 2026.

Not a flashy hype play. Just feels like one of those quiet miners with room to run if metals stay strong.

Stocks To Bet On Siver Price Rising

Stocks To Bet On Siver Price Rising

I’ve been trying to find solid stocks to play a potential rise in silver, but honestly it’s been tougher than I expected to find long-term winners. I’ve been looking at a few names so far but I’m still not fully convinced on which ones actually have long-term stability and which ones are just hype when silver spikes.

If anyone here has real experience with mining companies or follows the metals space closely, I’d love some advice. Which silver plays do you think make the most sense if you’re trying to invest for the long run? Thanks in advance.
