Palantir is trading at 155x earnings, driven by 133% commercial revenue growth
Palantir's stock has surged recently, but it's sitting at a very high valuation of 155x trailing 12-month earnings. For comparison, Nvidia is at 43x and Microsoft is at 24x.
The premium price is largely due to the success of their Artificial Intelligence Platform. They've been shifting away from relying solely on government contracts. U.S. commercial revenue climbed 133% to $595 million in the latest quarter, and they now have 615 commercial customers.
While the valuation is steep, history shows that early tech growth stories often feature high P/E ratios that eventually stabilize as earnings catch up. Apple and Amazon went through similar phases. It's likely not a fit for cautious value investors, but the commercial growth numbers are solid.

Palantir’s valuation is wild, but the commercial growth is why bulls keep paying up. Market’s betting they become a major AI software player long term.

i wonder if palantir can actually grow into that multiple over the next few years. it feels like high risk but their ai platform seems to have real momentum.
